Our client, a leading safety equipment manufacturer is looking for a Senior Accountant/Finance Manager in North Riding.
Our client is the global leader of controlled environments and safety technologies for the underground mining, tunelling, chemical processing, disaster relief and biotechnology industries.
Duties & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Australian Finance Controller at their head office, as well as the African General Manager, the African Finance manager will be responsible for all local financial activities. Accounts Administrator and cleaner report directly to this position.
The African Finance Manager will be an integral member of the Executive Committee; meeting on a weekly basis to discuss major corporate objectives. The Executive Committee is responsible for the direction and day-to-day operation of the business and are required to set the business standards and lead by example.
Role Responsibilities:
Daily banking requirements including payment review, authorisation and reconciliations
Track and manage cashflow
Debtor receipts and monthly statements including overseeing the portal system
Monthly reconciliations of all bank and balance sheet accounts
Processing the payroll for around 30 employees
Preparation and management of all tax liabilities
Assist with EE, WSP and other submissions
Monthly Reporting
End of Month Balance Sheet and P&L reconciliations
Calculate and issue financial analysis of AP & AR reports
Manufacturing project analysis
Annual Tasks
Business Plan and annual budget process
Review and analysis of annual figures
Desired Experience & Qualification
Accounting / Business degree (min. requirement)
5 years as a Manager in an Accounting team
Experience in ERP systems e.g. SAP
Strong accounts and accounting package experience
High level of competence in all Microsoft packages
Leadership of management experience is essential
