Reminder: World Rugby rankings ahead of Springboks v Wales Test

The Springboks will take on Wales for the 42nd time on Saturday, 22 June.

The clash at Twickenham in London is scheduled to kick off at 15:00 (SA time).

Over 60 000 tickets have been sold already for the Test against Wales. Secure your seats now by clicking here

As a reminder, the Springboks currently sit atop the World Rugby rankings with 94.54 points.

Meanwhile, Wales are down in 10th place on 77.26 points.

A win for the Springboks by any margin won’t see either side’s points tally change.

However, a draw will see South Africa lose one full point, while Wales would gain a point (and move to ninth place ahead of Australia).

A win by Wales by 15 points or fewer will see the Springboks lose two points and Wales gain a similar amount (and still moving to ninth place).

A victory by Wales by 16 or more points will see the Springboks lose three points (but still stay No 1 in the world), while Wales would gain three points and move to eighth place, ahead of both Italy and Australia.

IMPRESSIVE RECORD
The Springboks boast an impressive record against Wales having won 33 of the 41 Tests played to date.

It took the Wales 93 years – from 1906 to 1999 – to register their first win over the Springboks.

However, their record since then is far more impressive, winning six of the last 12 Tests between the two countries.

The match will be the first of the Springboks’ 2024 season.

In total, Rassie Erasmus’ men will play 13 times this year, including a second clash against Wales, this time in Cardiff, on their end of year tour on 23 November.
